One of the best things about running a successful business is the degree that it enables us to give back. We have established a number of committees and groups within Pecan Deluxe to help organize and oversee many of these events each year.
Our “walking club” participates in local charitable 5Ks, not only encouraging healthy activity for our employees but also bringing awareness to and raising funds for good causes.
Our “fun committee” plans and hosts different drives and events throughout the year to make sure needs in our community are met, including food drives, coat drives, and gift drives during the holidays for the less fortunate.
We also believe in the importance of education, thus have chosen to give back through a number of educational sponsorships in food and nutritional programs. We’re honored that we’ve been able to support a number of local and national charities, over the years, all of which we care deeply about.
We are helping to “color” children’s lives here at Pecan Deluxe.
Our most recent community efforts involve children who are experiencing health hardships and yet proving to be strong survivors.
One of our employee’s 9-year-old child is a Cancer survivor and every year he takes boxes of crayons to the children who are hospitalized and battling cancer. This year our company elected to HELP him accomplish his mission.
On Saturday July 7th, we participated in the Run for the Blue 5K to honor our fallen and first responders in Dallas. Event proceeds benefited the Blue Guardian Foundation whose mission is to provide law enforcement officers and their families assistance with personal work-related illnesses, injury, loss of life, and scholarship opportunities.
Not only did nine participants tackle the Summer temperatures and the two (giant!) hills on this course but we also donated generously to the Blue Guardian Foundation.
