Factory Launch Success
December 18, 2018
An International Affair
There was a truly global mix of food and beverage movers and shakers at Pecan Deluxe Europe’s Grand Factory Launch event in Yorkshire, which was attended by CEOs, buyers and NPD technicians from as far afield as Australia, Scandinavia, Belgium, France and Russia.
We were also delighted to welcome Chief Supply Officer for Minor Food Group Lerssak Boonsongsup, representing our Thailand based APAC headquarters and the burgeoning markets in the Far East and Australia. The launch event celebrated the culmination of the food tailor’s £3million investment in a significant factory expansion, including the installation of new frozen storage units and an additional cold extrusion line to help meet growing demand for its flagship cookie dough products.
Factory Tours and Food Demos
Following a fascinating welcome by EMEA and APAC Managing Director Graham Kingston, which covered the company’s heritage, growth and future plans, there were further presentations by R&D and business development colleagues examining trends and influences in the marketplace today and in the future. The majority of guests were keen to join factory tours to admire the new, extended facilities and were then treated to product demonstrations resulting in a choice of delicious desserts and snacks – all created from Pecan’s very own premium, indulgent ingredients manufactured using traditional artisan production methods and backed by full product tracability.
Business Development Manager Jenny Baillie commented: “We were delighted to welcome guests who made the effort to travel such long distances for our launch event; it’s a credit to our team who have developed such good relationships with our customer base over many years of association. We’re very proud of our company’s ongoing development and of the extended facilities which will underpin future growth and innovation, and we’d like to thank everyone – customers, partners, suppliers and colleagues – for helping to make the launch event such a resounding success.”
Camping in Style
The sheer number of guests meant the event had to be hosted in a series of linked tepees, warmed by real log fires and lit with sparkling Christmas trees. We also ensured that factory staff and office colleagues were not left out as they were able to gather in the tepees after guests departed and make sure that the remaining desserts and snacks did not go to waste – and the tepees also provided the perfect location for the staff Christmas party!
