One of the most rewarding parts of running a successful business is the degree that it enables us to give back to the causes we care about.
On this page, you’ll find information about these organisations and what we are doing to support them, as well as our other fundraising ventures.
We have joined forces with cancer patient Jacqui Drake to help meet her goal of raising £1 million for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, a.k.a the Bexley Wing of St James’ hospital in Leeds.
Jacqui has been diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and is determined to fight her battle with the power of positive thinking.
She is an inspiration to all of us here at Pecan Deluxe and we are delighted to be able to support her and her noble fundraising efforts.
Pecan Deluxe Europe is based in the historic village of Sherburn in Elmet, and we have given our support to the local community by investing in The 100 Club.
The 100 Club was established in 1976 by members of the Sherburn gala committee, to initially help restore the local All Saints Church. Today, it helps to maintain Sherburn’s annual activities as well as creating a small grant initiative to support other local causes.
Investing in the community is important to us here at Pecan Deluxe, and we’re pleased to be able to support The 100 Club.
Pecan Deluxe Candy is a proud sponsor of the annual Sherburn in Elmet Craft & Food Festival.
Now in its third year, the festival takes place over the August bank holiday weekend and will have over 100 craft and food stalls, along with professional cookery demonstrations.
The festival is supported by a number of local organisations and businesses and all profits go towards the community.
It’s a truly enjoyable event and we’re excited to sponsor it again this year.
Pecan Deluxe Europe have joined forces with the Red Box Project, a great charity which aims to provide free menstrual products to young women who may struggle to access them.
This is achieved by sending boxes full of donated items to schools right across the UK and our staff recently joined, giving to schools around the local area.

Pecan Deluxe Staff were inspired by our favourite celebrities attempts at baking on the telly for The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C
So we all had a go and brought in a loads of homemade treats for our colleagues to purchase, with donations going to Jacqui’s Million to help contribute towards her target of raising £1 million for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre.
The photo only shows a small selection of our bakery ‘prowess’ – we had tables groaning with goodies and we all had a very enjoyable Fat Friday!
Pecan Deluxe Staff raised a grand total of £909.72 for Jacqui’s Million after their brave efforts in the Yorkshire Marathon Corporate Relay event, on Sunday 14th October 2018.
In spite of horrid conditions, everyone showed amazing determination to complete the race, you can read more about it here.
All proceeds went to Jacqui’s Million and helped contribute towards her target of raising £1million for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre.
For the third year running, we’ll be sponsoring Demo Kitchens at the Sherburn-In-Elmet Craft and Food festival, with another special guest appearance from the Great British Bake-offs Howard Middleton.
The festival will run as ever, over the August Bank Holiday weekend (24th-26th) at Eversley Park, from 10am to 5pm each day.
They’ll be loads to do including food stalls, live entertainment and of course demo kitchens. Find out more information and get tickets for the festival here.
We’ve recently played our part in a fantastic charity called the Red Box Project. The aim of this scheme is to quietly ensure that no young women miss school or suffers embarrassment because of their period.
Pecan Deluxe female staff generously donated loads of sanitary items to the cause, going to schools around the Sherburn, Selby and Tadcaster areas.

By investing in The 100 Club, we are helping to support the local community.
The 100 Club organises Sherburn in Elmet’s biggest events throughout the year, including the Christmas lights, children’s discos, CCTV installations and the much-loved minibus visiting scheme.
The investments from local businesses ensure that these are kept running year on year and we’re thrilled to be contributing to the longevity of The 100 Club.
