Pecan Deluxe staff members braved a very rainy Sunday to complete the Yorkshire Marathon relay event on 14 October, gaining a total of £909.72 for Jacqi’s Million cancer charity. Despite the weather all our staff involved showed great determination to finish the race, each running their own leg of around 5 miles of the course, raising money for a fantastic cause.
Now in it’s sixth year, the Yorkshire marathon has become a popular event with over 10,000 participants running this year. Our two teams, appropriately named Total Nutters and the Eye Candies, went head to head running the 26-mile course between them. In spite of the horrible conditions, everyone showed tremendous endeavour and completed their legs of the race.
Jacqui’s million was the charity of choice to support during this event, continuing in the effort to help her meet the target of raising £1 Million for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre (Bexley wing of St James Hospital). Further to the proceeds from the marathon, Pecan Deluxe has raised over £3500 all in aid of Jacqui’s Million through various events over the last year and hope to continue doing so in the future. A huge thanks and well done must go to all our staff who have taken part, their efforts have been superb and raised more funds for a fantastic charity.
